POST, a group of seven female artists, is a collective that emerged from Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture in 2008. POST’s focus is the development of professional practice in the context of international exchange.
riPOSTe (meaning reply or retort) was an exchange project featuring POST artists alongside seven invited female artists from Linz, Austria, European Capital of Culture 2009. This culminated in two different exhibitions - one in the Bluecoat as part of Global Studios June to July 2010, and the other in Linz at MAERZ Artist Association and Altelierhaus Salzamt July to September 2010.
Bringing together fourteen diverse practices, riPOSTe provides space to explore cultural differences and investigate common themes including place, identity and mortality. By undertaking research trips between the partner cities, riPOSTe places importance on nurturing new relationships, engendering collaboration and the development of individual’s artistic practice.
