My art practice is driven by a desire to engage critically with the effects of rapid technological change characterising the now, and to investigate the effects of digital circulation on our ontological condition. The digital realm is characterised by excess and disintegration. Systems like the Internet, give users god-like global reach with the ability to participate in real time and access to seemingly unlimited knowledge. This is a world now personified by infinite complexity, and I am interested in how society is adapting. The resulting work often consists of digital photographs, films and performance combined in installations.
Based in London from summer 2010, I undertook a Post-Graduate Diploma at Chelsea School of Art and Design 2011, and am continuing with the MA Fine Art at Chelsea 2011-12. Prior to this I lived in Liverpool from 2001 to 2010, and was an in-house artist at the Bluecoat (www.thebluecoat.org.uk) from 2008-2010.
Currently, working as an Artist Educator with Tate Britain and a member of the AIR Council.
I'm also a member of Axis, the curated online index of contemporary artists - click on the button below to check it out...
